About King Agricultural Contractors

Our aim is to be an innovative and progressive agricultural business helping people achieve a more sustainable farming future.

Philip established the business in 1983 meaning that we have now been in business for over 35 years.  Innovation was key from the very start with Philip being one of the first to use an Accord Air-Seed drill in the area.

“It’ll never catch on,” he was told, but it soon did. 

Following on from that; Philip became involved in the design and testing of the first trailed bale wrapper to run behind a round baler, the Reco Auto Wrappa.

Expansion of the business meant that additional full time employees were soon being taken on. In 2009 Philip’s son, Jo joined the business.

Jo graduated from the Royal Agricultural College in 2008 with a BSc Honours degree in Agriculture and Land Management. With the knowledge and experience gained there, in addition to a further year spent working in agriculture in New Zealand, Jo was then able to return to the UK and introduce further new ideas into Philip’s expanding business.

Today King Agriculture are responsible for 1,400 acres of combinable crops, produce up to 30,000 bales and process around 10,000 tonnes of biomass wood chip per year.

Continued investment, innovation, and help from our skilled staff has allowed us to keep our sustainable values at our core, whilst enabling us to secure strong working relationships with around 200 existing clients in all aspects of farming and the rural economy.
